Design & Build of Bespoke Test Equipment


​With more than 40 years' experience with RF & Microwave Components & Systems, plus a well-equipped calibration laboratory, Aspen is able to design and manufacture "special to type" RF & Microwave Sub-Systems and Instrumentation.

The test equipment featured below represents just some of the products we have built to customer specifications.

40GHz Source 

​A special request from a UK University working on Quantum Physics research. The brief was to supply a 40GHz Phase Locked source with an output power of 2Watts.  An additional requirement was to provide adjustable phase and output power, to give full phase and level control of the output signal.

10GHz Source

​
A similar request to the 40GHz, source, this time at 10GHz. Modifications included remote control of both phase and level adjustment, via PC over a USB connection.

RF Power Monitor

​
Design brief was to design a simple RF power monitor suitable for a remote, outdoor location. Using components, primarily from Bird Technology, we designed a suitable product housed in an IP rated enclosure.

Signal Conditioning System

​
Design brief to build a signal conversion & conditioning system that up-converted an RF signal to the required frequency, routing the signal to multiple outputs, at varying levels. All output levels were calibrated to a required accuracy of ±1dB.
