Rotary Joints
Diamond rotary Joints are used with directional antennas in communications and radar applications. Lubricated bearings provide the mechanical interface for a long life of sector scan or full continuous rotation. Consistent high quality signals are passed during both rotation and fixed position transmission and reception.
Typical applications in communications and radar are:
- Ground station uplinks and downlinks
- Satellite Payloads
- Mobile platforms on land or sea or airborne
- Navigation Systems

Roll Rings
Roll-Rings® are based on the rolling contact of flexures between grooved rotor (inner) and stator (outer) rings. In a manner similar to a ball bearing and its races, flexures (shaped like a wedding band) roll between the inner and outer rings while producing very little friction thus maintaining very low wear.
There are four basic styles of Roll-Ring products: Flexures (the original Roll-Ring product), Couplers, Roll-Blocks and Flex-Wheels.
Flexures
Consist of “stacks” of stator and rotor rings, where each ring is adjacent to the next along the centreline axis of rotation. The flexure bridges the annulus between the inner and outer rings to complete the circuit. Flexures are generally used directly within a rotor and stator application.
Couplers
Consist of “stacks” of stator and rotor rings, where each ring is adjacent to the next along the centreline axis of rotation. The coupler bridges the annulus between the inner and outer rings to complete the circuit. Couplers are generally used directly within a rotor and stator application where higher amperage is needed.
Roll Blocks
Consist of flexures embedded in a conductive wheel. The conductive Roll-Block wheel rolls on the surface of the rotor, completing the circuit and is generally used for a drum or platter style application where tension is applied by a spring.
Flex Wheels
Consist of flexures embedded in a conductive wheel. The conductive Flex-Wheel rolls on the surface of the rotor, completing the circuit and is generally used for a high speed drum or platter style application where rotor and wheel tension is achieved by the Flex-Wheel surface (no springs).
